Privacy policy

SUBRAMANIYASWAMY CHELLAKUMARAN ("we") runs varugavaruga.in. We decide how the data described here is used. Contact: support@varugavaruga.in.

• Invite details you type: names (and optionally parents' names), function type, dates and times, venue and address, schedule, messages, optional WhatsApp contact number and live-stream link.
• Photos you upload for the invite (resized in your browser before upload).
• Payment records: plan, amount, status and the payment reference from Razorpay. We do not receive or store card numbers, UPI IDs or bank details; Razorpay handles those.
• Basic technical data that our hosting provider records to run and protect the site (for example IP address, browser type and request time).
• A count of visits that come from shared WhatsApp links (a "ref" parameter in the link). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

We do not ask for an account, password or email address to make an invite. If you write to us, we receive your email address and message.

• To build, show and host your invite and its share image.
• To take payment and publish the invite after payment.
• To answer your support requests (for example resending a lost edit link).
• To keep the service secure and to meet legal, tax and accounting duties.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

A paid invite is visible to anyone who has its link. Links contain a random part so they cannot be guessed, invite pages are marked "noindex" so search engines do not list them, and we never publish a list of invites. Unpaid previews are not shareable. Please share your link only with your guests, because the invite may contain your home or venue address.

We use these providers, who process data on our behalf only to run the service:

• Cloudflare: website hosting, database and photo storage.
• Razorpay: payment processing and receipts (see Razorpay's own privacy policy).
• Our email forwarding provider: delivery of messages sent to support@varugavaruga.in.

Data may be processed on servers outside India by these providers.

• Photos: deleted 90 days after the event date. The invite page then shows a thank-you card.
• Drafts and invite details: kept until 12 months after the function, or deleted sooner when you ask.
• Payment records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.

You can change your invite with your edit link. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by writing to support@varugavaruga.in with your payment reference or invite link, so we can confirm the invite is yours. We acknowledge your request within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days. Payment records we must keep by law are kept until that period ends.

Edit links are random and only a hashed form is stored. The site uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; if you think your edit link was exposed, write to us and we can help.

The service is meant for adults (18 or older) organising a function. Invites for children's functions (for example ear piercing or birthdays) are made by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the child's details and photos.
